About the event

Discovering that you are autistic as an adult can be many things including: validating, a relief to finally know, frustrating that you didn’t know earlier, and a catalyst for further self-discovery. We love supporting neurodivergent people to get to know themselves through an affirming lens with information, self-advocacy, and strategies for daily life based on personal strengths, preferences and needs. Doing this in a group setting creates possibilities for connection through ‘I do that too!’ moments and a sense of being part of the broader autistic community.

This group is an opportunity to meet other autistic adults, find out more about autism and how it relates to the way your brain works, and learn useful skills and tips.

The group will run online each Wednesday for 6 weeks starting on Wednesday 27 April 2022.  Sessions run for 90 minutes from 3.30pm to 5pm (WA/Perth time).

The topics covered over the weekly, online group sessions will be:

  • Life post-diagnosis (formal or self-diagnosed/identified)
  • Relationships (including friends, partners, family, acquaintances, and colleagues)
  • Work and study
  • Interests and leisure activities
  • Emotions
  • Self-identity and self-advocacy
